The MARCELO ALONSO ACADEMY ranks as one of the foremost Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools in the State of Washington. We instruct students of all ages, from a variety of backgrounds and abilities----each aspiring to attain their own personal training goals.
The class learning environment is respectful, focused, and spirited. The more experienced students regularly help the beginners learn and grow. The academy is like a big family and we all help each other develop to the best of our ability. There is always a healthy dose of competitiveness but it is in the spirit of improvement---Egos are left at the door.
Student safety is a prime concern at the Academy, and all classes are conducted in a safe, supportive and friendly environment. All classes are taught by Marcelo himself or by one of his appointed and qualified black belt instructors.
 MATS
Our Academy takes pride in providing the finest grappling mat flooring system available. We use Swain mats, the first true mat developed for the martial arts industry. These are the same mats that have been used as the official martial arts mat of the Olympic Games.
We use the 1-1/2” Swain Grappling mat on top of a 1-1/4” foam underlayment pad. This two-layer pad combination provides a truly forgiving floor for the ultimate in safety. Our students appreciate these high performance mats, and parents can rest assured knowing that their children are training on a very forgiving floor.
FACILITIES
We have separate men’s and women’s dressing rooms, as well as separate rest rooms. We strive to maintain a high level of hygiene at the Academy, and endeavor to keep the mats and equipment sanitary by daily cleaning with disinfectants. |
